Happy Halloween!

Can you guess what Daniel was for Halloween? Was he a mummy? A cowboy? Superman? Or was he all three? Check out the Halloween 2004 photo album to find out!

We just got in from trick-or-treating and Daniel got quite a bit of candy. Our neighborhood has gotten bigger since last Halloween, but there’s still not alot of kids, so people were dumping candy on him at almost every house. He got alot of full size candy bars too…go neighbors!

We hope that everyone is having a nice and spooky Halloween! Don’t let anything get you!

p.s. For any family members that may or may not be involved in any trickery….just remember, that little boy could show up at your house too…at anytime….you never know…..so watch out.

Soccer’s Over?

Last night we had our last soccer practice for the Fall season, but they didn’t actually practice. It was more of a very informal, very impromptu awards presentation (they got trophies and juice). Daniel is SO PROUD of his trophy and we are very proud of him. His team is supposed to have one more game on Saturday, but most of the players aren’t going to show up, so we’re not sure yet what’s going to happen. Daniel is sad about the season being over, but he had a lot of fun. Here’s some pictures from last night (click on them to make them larger) and you can also check out his Soccer pictures from the whole season.

Friday-Sunday

We’ve had a great weekend. Dscf0006_5Daniel was stylin’ on Friday for school. Dscf0002_5Saturday morning we slept in a little and then got up (no, that’s not coffee, it’s just warm tea). Dscf0011 Then we went to Daniel’s soccer game (click here for the updated soccer album). Saturday evening our community had a Fall Festival, complete with chili dogs, live music, a bouncy castle and hayrides. It was alot of fun and Daniel made a new friend.

Dscf0017_1Dscf0019_1He asked her to dance and she invited him to her Halloween party.

Dscf0003_3Dscf0007Dscf0016Sunday we made some Halloween cookies after dinner.

Click on the pictures in this post to make them larger.

Questions with Daniel (after his field trip)

Click here for the Field Trip Photo Album.

Where did you go today? At the pumpkin farm. The pumpkin patch.

What did you see? Some animals, some toys, some pumpkins.

Did you see any special pumpkins? Yeah a real-ly big, big, big one.

Did you learn how pumpkins grow? Yeah.

How do they grow? With seeds. They plant seeds, then we went on a hayride.

So, you go on a hayride? Yeah, hayrides are good, Mom. On the hayride, I said “this is fun”.

Did you see any animals? Yeah.

What kind? Cows, horses, pigs, llamas, goats, ducks, turkeys, a donkey. That’s all the animals I see’d.

Did you get to pick a pumpkin? Yeah. Two.

Why did you choose these pumpkins? Because I was going home after I picked my pumpkins.

Do you want to name your pumpkins? Yeah. Tiny Weeny and Tonko.

Where should we keep them? On the table over here (the dining room table).

Did you have fun? Yeah!

What else did you learn? About the weather, singing weather watcher.

(sung to the tune of "Frere Jacques")
Weather watcher, weather watcher.
Look outside, look outside.
Tell us what the weather's like, tell us what the weather's like.
Sun, rain, clouds, sun, rain, clouds.
What else do you want to tell me about?</em>

Did you sing that at school or at the pumpkin patch? School.

Who taught it to you? My teacher.

When you sang that song, what was the weather like outside? Cloudy.

What else can you tell about your field trip. We used cars, my friend Will rode with us. At the hay maze they made tunnels.

Did you get lost in the hay maze? Yeah and I had to go backwards to find my way out. And then they made a shortcut with a tunnel, so we could cross our way back. I went backwards with all my friends and there was both a mean kid and a Logan and I tried to hide from them and then I find my way out.

Do you want to go back to the pumpkin farm again? Yes and play on the playground and meet the animals and go on the hayride.

I’ve added some pictures…

to the Vintage Daniel photo album.

And I’ve added a new album of some of our wedding pictures, although they were scanned a long time ago and the quality isn’t that great, I will probably rescan them at some point in the near future.

I’ve also added an album of Daniel’s Drawings.

Daniel

Tonight David is rebuilding one of our computers and was getting old files off before wiping it. He found all kinds of old pictures of Daniel, I mean it was only 3 years ago, but they change so much when their little, that it seems like much longer. He also found most of the music that I thought we had lost. So Daniel and I were snuggled up in bed looking at old pictures of him and sharing the earbuds listening to music. We listened to and sang along to Pooh Corner (Cat Stevens), Winken, Blinken and Nod (The Mama’s and the Papa’s), Puff the Magic Dragon (Peter, Paul and Mary (I’m not sure anyone else sang that one)) and he finally fell asleep while we were listening to Baby Mine (Bette Midler), the song I used to sing to him when he was a baby. It was such a sweet few moments, almost like he could sense that I missed his sweet little baby head smell and mushiness (oh and he was so mushy). He’s not a baby anymore and I miss that, but he’s a little kid and there are new things to love, like his weird little sense of humor and his wonderful imagination and his uncontrollable urge to get naked and dance around the living room.

Thank you for rebuilding the computer David.
