A Good Christmas
We had a wonderful holiday and hope everyone else did too!
Christmas Eve dinner was, as usual, great. There was so much good food and Steve and Honey’s house looked so pretty (Daniel was a little worried about the snowman in the bathtub though). All the kids opened their Christmas pajamas and then the first round of homemade gifts were exchanged. David had Chad’s name and made him a really cool little wooden box. Aunt Bobbi had Daniel’s name and made Daniel a beautiful Christmas book all about him. He LOVED it so much that he did not want to let anyone else see it! It really is a wonderful book and it will definitely become a Christmas tradition to read his book at Christmastime.
It was then time to head home and get ready for Santa. Daniel left cookies and milk for Santa and a carrot and water for the reindeer. We read a few Christmas stories and then off to bed. Tommy and Austin stayed with us this year and it was so nice to have them here on Christmas Eve night and on Christmas morning!
Christmas morning Daniel got up around 7 and went to wake up Uncle Austin. We all went downstairs to see what Santa had left and to open presents. Daniel got tons of stuff (multiple playsets, lots of games, a bike….the list goes on and on), David got DVDs, books and a new monitor, I got a bunch of cool books, a new watch(from Daniel), a red hand mixer, red cookeware, a pot rack and DVDs!
After a quick ride on his bike, we were off to Grandma and Buddy’s. We had some yummy snacks and some ham and biscuits and then opened even more great presents! Then we exchanged the second round of homemade gifts. I had Honey’s name and knitted her a candy cane scarf (and now I can finally knit in public!). Steve had David’s name and made him a really cool remote box (which we really needed!). Daniel had Austin’s name and made him a picture cube and wrote ‘To Uncle’ on the bottom. And finally, Robin had my name and drew me the neatest picture. I think she called it a two-point perspective, it was from the movie "You’ve Got Mail," and it showed both the book stores decorated for Christmas, it’s really cool!
Thank you to everyone for all of our gifts and your wonderful company! We had a a really good Christmas!
