Change the Roll
Daniel (in the bathroom): Hey Mom! Hey Moooooooom?!
Me (in the kitchen): Yes Daniel?
Daniel: I pooo-oo-op-ed!
Me: Ok, well wipe and flush and wash your hands.
Daniel: I caaaan’t, there’s no wiping stuff!

Today we were pretending to have birthday parties and Daniel was telling me how he was going to make me some cupcakes. Here is the recipe he told me:
Butter, so it doesn’t taste like tomatoes
Salt, so it can be a little bit difficult
Flour, so it can be some good things to do
Cookies, so it can be sweet
Sugar, so it can be a little different from the cakes I made 4 years ago.
Mix up everything that’s ingredients.
Bake it.
Put it in those thingies. What are those things again? The things on the outside of cupcakes?
Put some sprinkles on top.
Then that’s it! It’s all done.
Well, I finished Daniel’s pajamas.
Next time I will go by Daniel’s measurements instead of the size listed on the pattern, since he will be able to wear these pajamas for the next two years.
Except for about 3/4 of a cheese sandwich, Daniel’s entire diet today has consisted of sugar, sugar and more sugar. Easter might actually tie with Halloween on the candy level. We’ve had a really nice day though and enough leftovers that I don’t have to cook tonight!
And now….for Daniel’s Easter outfit:
You can’t tell me he’s not cute!
Edited to add:
This morning when Daniel got his basket, there were original yellow Peeps and some purple bunny Peeps. Daniel said "I guess there’s two types of Peeps in this world."
More pictures to come (I have to go make a bazillion deviled eggs first)….also stay tuned for The Easter Outfit!
Considering it’s been about 8 years since I’ve done any kind of sewing, I am very pleased with Daniel’s new pajama bottoms. They are a little big, but that just means he can wear them longer. I’ll post another picture when I finish the top.
In preparation for Daniel’s upcoming egg hunts, we practiced with a few egg hunt exercises this morning. The Easter Bunny has left eggs hidden in the past, but now that Daniel is four, we think that EB is going to choose more challenging hiding places. Daniel also has an egg hunt at school tomorrow and we want make sure he is prepared to rule with his superior egg finding skills! It’s all about the EGGS!!
Ok. Really? He just wanted me to hide eggs this morning so he could find them. I started saying "You’re getting warmer," and "so cold!" without even thinking that he didn’t know what I was talking about. I tried my best to explain, but I don’t think he gets it yet. How do you teach a kid about the ‘hot’ and ‘cold’ of the playground (and egg hunts)?
