Everyone will be happy to hear that Daniel is half way to collecting all of the Burger King Star Wars toys.
However, I’m not sure I can eat another cheeseburger or star-shaped chicken thing (it’s not really a nugget or a strip).
Also? I think the fries there taste like Play-Doh. Well, not so much Play-Doh fresh from the can. More like fried Play-Doh with way too much salt on them (David noticed tonight that the fry bin was labeled "The Salt Mine").
I just have to keep reminding myself that we only have fifteen more kid’s meals to consume. That is if they don’t run out of toys again (we’ve had 5 meals without Star Wars toys) and we don’t get any duplicates. Fifteen more meals is…let’s see, if Daniel and I both get a kid’s meal for a week…that’s only 14, so that wouldn’t work. Plus I have that pesky rule about not eating fast food all the time. And I just got Super Size Me from Netflix, so after I watch that I’m sure we’ll cut back even more…
I think I might just cheat and go buy them on eBay.

This weekend I made an unsuccessful attempt at teaching Daniel a lesson.
On Saturday we usually clean up the house a little bit and do the chores that we didn’t get to during the week. Daniel’s only job was to pick up his playroom (which wasn’t all that bad, you could still see most of the floor). He argued and whined and pouted about it for a while and finally told me that he needed my help. I told him that I would help him when I was done with my chores, but that would be a while and he couldn’t play his game or watch TV until his room was clean. He went on and on about how it wasn’t fair and kept whining and refusing to clean.
Finally I told him that he could either clean up his playroom by himself or he could help me with my chores and then I would help him. I listed off everything that I needed to do in hopes that he would decide it to be too much and just go clean his room. He said he would help me. I played along and thought that after a few minutes he would get tired of doing "real" chores and give up.
Nope.
Daniel loaded the dishwasher and dried the pots and pans and wiped the counters down and vacuumed the kitchen and sunroom and wiped down all the baseboards in the kitchen and the sunroom. He helped me move the chairs out of the kitchen so I could mop and then he helped me move them back in. He was serious about helping me.
The only thing is, with Daniel helping everything takes twice as long or more. What usually takes me 15-20 minutes, ended up taking about an hour. But everything is very clean now!
**Edited to add…Daniel did get extra allowance for all of his work, I’m not that mean of a mama.

I can’t believe it’s June already. That means it’s only 207 days until Christmas! And only 217 days until Daniel turns FIVE!
Of course, he’s already picked out his birthday party theme. You’ll never guess what it’s going to be…I’ll give you a hint, it starts with Star and end with Wars. I should probably start planning soon, I think he wants a cake in the shape of a ship.
June is also the month of our anniversary. Ten years this year! I checked out the traditional and modern gift chart and woo hoo! it looks like I get jewelry (hint, David) from here on out if you follow the modern side. Of course, tin and aluminum can be nice too.
