Daniel-san
And soon to be Mama-san too. They are offering a two-month course for parents to take to help the kids and I signed up. My first class is Monday night. I may very well have lost my mind.
Bye!
Today we said goodbye to Uncle Tommy and Granddad. Their visit was good and Daniel is looking forward to seeing them again this fall.
Daniel was especially happy to find a note from Uncle Tommy on his bed this evening, it made his night.
45+ Books
This is Daniel celebrating at Chuck E Cheese’s on Sunday. At the beginning of the summer he signed up for summer reading at the library. He had to read or be read 20 books to get a certificate and a medal (which he will get on Saturday at the library). The sheet they gave us to track the books went up to 45 and when it became clear that Daniel was easily going to hit his 20 before the first week was up, we told him that if he filled up the whole sheet, we would take him to Chuck E Cheese as a reward. He filled up the sheet a few weeks ago, so we decided it was time to make good on our promise. He had a great time.
FROM DANIEL
I DID WELL AND GOT MY WHITE BELT AT KARATE CLASS.
I LEARNED HORSE STANCE AND TWO PUNCH AND BLOCK AND PUNCH THAT WAS KIND OF COOL.
MONDAY I’M GOING TO TRY TO GET THE NEXT BELT.
I DO GOOD EVERYTIME I DO KARATE CLASS.
GOOD NIGHT.
Shmumpy the Tomato Plant
A couple of months ago, Daniel and I planted some tomatoes in containers as an experiment to see if we could grow them in the house.
I have two plants that I take care of and Daniel has one, Shmumpy. He named it and he takes care of it everyday.
Last week Shmumpy produced a tomato. It is small and green, but growing everyday. My plants have nothing on them. Daniel has a greener thumb than I do.

I Promise We Haven’t Forgotten…
about you all. We’re just enjoying the summer and not finding the time to post. Things should slow down a little soon since Daniel will be starting Karate classes next week and we’ll actually have to stick to some kind of schedule.
We’re also going to try something new here soon. So stay tuned for that!
Happy 4th!
We had a wonderful 4th! Since I haven’t posted in a while, I’m going to go ahead and put the pictures up and I’ll add captions later today (we have to run to storytime at the library soon and we’re running late).
Enjoy!
