In an effort to make sure Daniel has only the best in Show and Tell material for his class, we made a little trip to The Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama on Saturday (actually we just went for fun, but read on…Daniel did get some really awesome things).

An astronaut flight suit with a personalized name tag.

A chance to land a shuttle in a simulator.

A ride on a kid’s lunar lander simulator.

…a real, live astronaut!

The astronaut is Mike Mullane. 
He signed "Daniel - Dream Big!  Mike Mullane STS 41D, 27, 36 4/22/06"

Daniel thought it was pretty cool, but I think David and I thought it was cooler.  I’m pretty sure when Daniel is a little older, he will appreciate it a little more though.

Overall it was a nice trip and a good weekend.  As always, we have lots of pictures…they can be found here.

There is a mix of everyday snapshots, Easter at preschool, the Sounds season home opener, egg dying, Easter morning, bike riding, rainbows, swim lessons, and karate belt graduation (he’s a Junior Blue Belt now!).
