Sunday we watched Robin graduate from high school!  It was a very nice day with a brunch before the graduation.

Monday we didn’t really do much of anything, but David had the day off and it was nice to just spend time together as a family.

Today Daniel and I are working on our summer schedule and figuring out all the stuff we want to do before school starts back in August.

Tomorrow I will work on getting some of Daniel’s graduation video on here, so check back!

I have many more pictures on flickr (over to the left at the top of the page or click here) if you want to check them out.  Most of the pictures are available for everyone to see. However, any pictures having to do with Daniel’s school are accessible only to those with flickr accounts that I have marked as friends or family.  If you have a flickr account and want to be added so that you may see the pictures, send me an email with your flickr account name.  If you don’t have a free flickr or yahoo account and don’t want to sign up for one, send an email to thesidlingers@gmail.com with "flickr password" in the subject line and if you’re on our contact list (if you’ve emailed us before) a universal friends/family log on I created will be sent to you so that you may view the pictures.  I don’t mean to make it difficult, but I don’t feel right publishing pictures of other people’s kids without their permission.

Rockstar!

Daniel wanted to give his friends a little gift before leaving preschool, so we came up with a CD with some of his favorite songs on it.  This is what we ended up with (click to make bigger):

The CD Back:

In the Paint Again

Instead of boring you with entries about this being Daniel’s last Wednesday at preschool…It’s the very last Wednesday he’ll ever go to preschool, can you believe it?!?….sorry, I couldn’t help myself..I thought I would show you what I’ve been working on in Daniel’s room.

If you’ll remember, this was Daniel’s room before:

This is Daniel’s room now:

At first he wanted a space room, then he decided he wanted a Knight’s room…so I tried to combine the two as best I could.  Half of his walls are painted dark and have a sea of stars painted on them (complete with constellations) that glow in the dark.  The other half of the walls are actually left over blue from his Hawaiian theme, but I’ve added clouds and will soon add a sun to finish it up.  Then I hung a castle canopy over his bed to help with the Knight’s portion of the room.   He can rule his kingdom in day or knight (get it??…knight, night??  Daniel and I have made this joke several times and it never gets old, to us at least).

I do have a few more things left to do, like painting the sun and probably a moon.  I also need to change out the plates on the outlets and wall switches since they still have blue hibiscus on them and then get some simple curtains for the windows.  We’ll probably pick up some medieval accessories this weekend at the Renaissance Festival too.

I can’t really think of a way to wrap this up, so I’ll just say stay tuned until tomorrow when I post about Daniel’s last Thursday at school!

Small Request

To the 260 pound, white, male in his thirties wearing a red shirt, injured and possibly disoriented that was lurking in our neighborhood last night causing quite a stir with all the police and spotlights and helicopters; if there is another incidence, could you please do your hiding elsewhere, I’d like to get some sleep tonight.  Thanks!

Trying

While I try to get behind Daniel in his current interests, some of them I just can’t seem to get into.  Right now, Transformers are really big.

Daniel: I’m Thundershot! That’s my made up Transformer.  Who is your made up Transformer Mama?

Me: (trying to make sure we walk out the door with everything we need) Um, I’m….uh….I’m….(seeing the flowers outside) I’m Flowershot!

Daniel:  Ok, what do you do?

Me: I shoot flowers out my arms.

Daniel:  Uh, Transformers don’t do things like that.

Me: Oh…um, well I shoot flowers out of my arms and then they BLOW UP!

Daniel:  Yeah!  Like flower bombs!  Cool!
