Friday morning as we were eating breakfast, Daniel was talking about some things that he wants that are quite a bit more than his normal allowance. I suggested that he might ask Santa to bring them for Christmas and David added something about being good because Santa is watching.
Being early in the morning and distracted at the thought of toys, Daniel asked what David what he was talking about. I quickly chimed in with "Yeah, he’s always watching, you know what the song says…," and before I could start singing the chorus from ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’, Daniel said "Oh yeah," and then started singing, "I always feel like somebody’s watching me!"

This week Daniel started his second month (and first full month) of school. We are still working to get our routines fine tuned and it’s getting a little easier everyday. We have been busy though, with said routines and karate and PTA and helping out at school and PTA and school open house and fall cleaning and PTA. And did I mention the PTA?
So I’ve come up with a list of a few things that would make life a little easier.
- Painting Daniel’s bathroom blue. The whole thing, walls cabinets, door and installing a blue sink, bathtub and toilet. That way, all the toothpaste and blue tooth-staining mouthwash wouldn’t be so noticeable all the time.
- Writing one check for
$100 $200 all of David’s paycheck to the school every month for various fundraisers, field trips, books, fees and whatnots…instead of 15 little checks every other day.
- Find the magical mathematical equation to figure out how many parents will show up for open house and various school events and how many cookies they will eat and how much punch they will drink.
- Hire a maid.
- Give up on healthy snacks for Daniel or provide all the snacks for his class.

He didn’t discover, until September, that he loves watermelon.
