Back To School
Well, Spring break is over and Daniel is back at school. Last week, Daniel and I did several things to pass the time without vegging out too much in front of the TV. We made an entire paper mache solar system, played on the playground for hours, went to the zoo, painted ceramics, played pretend, bingo, legos (most of which you can see pictures of, by clicking here).
This morning when we were talking over breakfast, I asked him if his class talked about what they did during spring break, which thing would he pick to talk about? He said, "seeing the TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) movie on Saturday!!"
Just goes to show you that I do not have a good grasp on the mind of a six year old boy.

This week has been Read Across America week and his school has been celebrating by doing special activities every day. Wednesday was Wacky Wednesday…the kids read Dr. Seuss’s Wacky Wednesday and got to dress wacky for the day.
Today was Dr.Seuss’s birthday and the Kindergarten celebrated by making and eating (some of them at least) Green Eggs and Ham. Students were also allowed to dress as their favorite book character. Daniel first wanted to dress as Captain Underpants, but being school and all, we couldn’t figure out an appropriate way to execute that costume. So we went with The Man With the Yellow Hat from Curious George…
So, as you can see, it’s been a busy week and last week David and I were recovering from food poisoning for a few days and then getting caught up on things after being down from that, so my apologies for not updating sooner.
We have finished laying the new floor in the living room and love it! We will probably do Daniel’s room next and then eventually move on to the kitchen, sunroom and our bedroom. We’ve also been working on a few other little house projects here and there, kind of a spring cleaning/very minor remodel. I will post pictures once we get everything done and back in order.
